Jeff is an Associate Band Director and the Jazz and Percussion Director at Wando High School.  He is part of the creative team for the marching band, directs the percussion ensembles and Wando’s three jazz bands, among other musical duties. His jazz and percussion students have been consistently chosen for the South Carolina All-State Bands, with more Wando students being placed into the All-State concert and Jazz bands than any other high school in the state.

In his 11th year at Wando, Jeff has presented numerous clinics in the state, including performances by the Wando Percussion Ensemble and Wando Jazz Band at the SCMEA convention.  He is a recipient of the National Band Association’s Outstanding Jazz Educator Award, Certificate of Merit for Marching Excellence, and the Citation of Excellence.

Jeff received his education at Indiana University, earning his Bachelor of Music Education and Performer’s Certificate. Before he began teaching Wando, Jeff was the percussionist for the Dallas Brass and performed in several tours in the US and in Japan with the show Blast!  He currently freelances around Charleston in a variety of ensembles.

Jeff is a proud endorser of Evans, Promark, and Sabian.  His professional affiliations include South Carolina Music Educators Association, NAfME, Jazz Educator’s Network, Phi Beta Mu, and the Percussive Arts Society, for which he is currently the Vice President for the South Carolina chapter.  When not teaching or playing, he spends as much time as possible with his wife Cameron and daughters, Harper and Maryjane.
